About Webinars

In this virtual classroom, participants can join in a seminar led by Poynter faculty and visiting faculty. This screencast includes live audio and a slideshow presentation in which participants can post questions and respond to poll questions posed by the host.

From interactive images to comics, an increasing number of journalists and news organizations are experimenting with new forms of illustrated journalism. And it’s no wonder: Visual journalism can be shared, generate web traffic and provide a engaging entry point into complex stories. But a successful foray into illustrated storytelling requires smart teamwork and a keen editorial eye.

In this one-hour Webinar, you will learn about the types of stories that can be effective illustrated journalism and you'll see some concrete examples of successful (and not-so-successful) projects.
